Chris Guise

As a self-employed cartoon portrait artist, Chris Guise approached Richard Taylor for some work and was given a week's trial on "a small job coming up." The small job turned out to be the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Chris started off in the miniatures department and was one of the many technicians who helped build the miniature of Moria. He then moved into the Armour / Weapons department and helped construct the hundreds of suits of armour required for the films. Since then, Chris has sculpted several pieces for the Weta Merchandising line and done design work on a wide variety of other Weta projects, including The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, horror film Black Sheep, costume design for the NZ stage production of Beauty and the Beast, credit design for King Kong and conceptual designs for Weta's first television production Jane and the Dragon. He is currently working on a number of confidential projects.
